Your telegram 15th June No 76 and my despatch
of 5th May Confidential Shingmun. Please inform Consulting
Engineers that Government wishes to expedite work by all possible
means in order to take full advantage of approaching dry season.
If they will transmit instructions by telegraph endeavour will be
made to push on with preliminary mark essential work. Suggest
continuation of approach road to Pine Apple Pass to site. What is
approximate date of Engineers arrival in Hong Kong?.
Shall be glad if Consulting Engineers estimate of
expenditure during 1932 can be telegraphed so that vote can be
taken.
